The Short Version

In late April 2010 I flew from Oregon to Chicago to leave my 23-month-old daughter (PJ) with my sister while I traveled to Ethiopia to pick up my new 12-month old son (little dude).  My husband (SAG) stayed home so he could move our 3 cats, 2 dogs, 1 parrot and houseful of items across the country to a college town in Missouri which we now call “home”.  My son is adjusting well to his move from Africa to the USA.  Apparently my daughter and I are not nearly as flexible.

Hey girl … I found you now! 🙂 I can’t wait to read all of your great posts. And thanks for the accupuncture tip. Another friend of mine suggested that too – so definitely worth checking into!

Thank you for your recent comment on my blog. I’ve subscribed to you for a while now and I respect your perspective. Oddly, I got a notice of your comment by email but, when I went to respond on the blog, the comment is not visible. Commenting is not modeated.
I’ll keep looking for it, but in the mean time I wanted you to know that I got your comment and find it reassuring that we’re on the same page.

Hey, just wanted to thank you for your sweet comment on my blog post about the dog. I can’t tell you how much I needed that today. She’s still with us and still charms us in so many ways, which makes the transition that much harder. It was good to get a reminder that we really are making the best choice not just for us, but also for her. So thank you!

I’ll add another thank you for your kind words. They were much appreciated. It really does take me an insanely long time to write. Thought the blog would loosen me up and writing would flow more easily, but no luck so far. I enjoy reading your blog – much to think about and chew on, mixed with plenty of doses of child loveliness!
